A new report by eMarketer is another uptick in popularity of mobile coupons, indicating that each tenth mobile users redeem coupons on their mobile device.Data from eMarketer estimates that nearly 20 million U.S. adults are a mobile coupon this year, including coupons or receipts received by SMS, applications, and mobile Web browser; quick response codes to redeem online or offline; and purchase purchased vouchers by mobile phone. By 2013 the number with such coupons are nearly double, and 16.5% of all U.S. adult cell phone users to redeem a voucher year.
The popularity of mobile coupons is experienced from the popularity of online coupons during the recession, eMarketer speculated, and is a trend, the soon going anywhere is not. "Even if the sputtering economy tries the popularity of couponing continued its recovery, partially fueled by the burgeoning daily offers space," Noah said Elkin, eMarketer main analyst and author of the new report, mobile coupons: deals and focuses light on the last mile.
